Muay Thai at Patong Stadium

Where to buy tickets to Muay Thai

There is a boxing match every Thursday night at Patong Boxing Stadium. However, we bought tickets to a Sunday night one which was a Super Champ match. Laws bought our tickets through this site Phuket | Muay Thai Stadium Tickets. But you can book through the Patong Boxing Stadium website or through the tour guide desks. I found that if you ask your massage lady, tailor or tuk tuk driver, they all have contacts for best price. You can also buy tickets at the door. There wasn’t many seats and I would imagine that they sell out pretty quickly so I would advise buying them before you go.

Cost to go to a Muay Thai Boxing Match

Tickets are 2000 baht – around $80 AUD.

Where is the Patong Boxing Stadium?

The Patong Boxing Stadium is right in the middle of Phuket a couple of blocks back from the main strip. We walked back to our hotel after the match so it was a great location for us. The address is 2/59 Sai Nam Yen Road, Patong Beach and tuk tuks and taxis will easily take you there.

Covid restrictions

We had to have a RAT test on entry. So we got there a bit before it started and they conduct a RAT on us. We then waited for 15 minutes for the results before being allowed in. The price of this is included in your ticket.

The Muay Thai fights

We watched six fights, the winners from two of the first fights fought in the last fight. It was interesting watching 15 year old girls fighting 30-something year old women. The women fights were a lot more entertaining then the men. The men kept getting in trouble for not fighting haha.

Beers at Muay Thai

There was a bar when you first walked in and then there were people taking your order in the crowd. They had beers and basic spirits available.

We were watching the presenter slowly devour his hip flask size bottle of Hong Thong whiskey between matches. That was entertaining in itself. It’s obviously hard being a presenter.

Would I recommend seeing a Muay Thai fight?

Yeah 100%, it was really cool to go too and if you haven’t had much to do with Muay Thai its cool to learn about it.

We watched some cock fighting as well and its funny how much you can see that the movements in Muay Thai derived from the cock fighting.
