Four of the best Phuket markets

Phuket Night Weekend Markets

The best Phuket markets for food and shopping!

These markets are on Saturday and Sunday nights, we tried to go a Friday night and they were not open. Google told us they were open every night so don’t trust google. These markets are about 20 minutes from Patong Beach and we paid 500 baht in a Tuk Tuk to get there. These are probably the winner of the markets, they have the biggest and best range of fresh cooked market foods and then the best range of clothes, they had cool clothes I didn’t find anywhere else in Thailand again (sadly). These markets are big and you could probably easily spend 3-4 hours here. Check out their location here phuket weekend night market – Google Search.

Food at the Phuket Night Weekend Market

We got some beers on arrival and strolled past all the food stalls looking for some dinner. Laws got a cup of bugs to eat – cicadas, crickets, larve, Christmas beetles. They were really very delicious in whatever they had been marinated in – give them a go! We had little coconut pancakes – Kanom Krok (so good), skewers of pork and chicken, sushi, fresh coconut water, and more beer. We only had about an hour and a half here cause we had booked tickets to the boxing, so we ate quickly then strolled through the shops.

Shopping at Phuket Night Weekend Market

Laws got some shorts, his Dad got some shirts and I got two shirts and a dress before we had to move on. I wish we had more time to spend here cause these markets were great, my dress and two shirts (one Fendi, one Versace) were around 220-250 baht each, about $10 AUD each and the quality is top notch. Definitely recommending making some time to go to these markets.

Same Same Markets

Our favourite street food market in Phuket!

Street food markets – we ate here probably four or five nights, we just kept going back.

Freshest food and so good. We had chicken leg skewers, deep fried chicken (way better than KFC), pork belly, port skewers, pork everything, whole fried fish, seafood, coconut ice cream, beer, beer, beer.

The food was so nice from these little markets, would definitely recommend eating here often. You can find this market at the opposite end of the front street to Bangla Road, an easy walk. Check out the map for more same same market phuket – Google Search.

Malin Plaza Patong Markets

Another great street food market!

These markets were great for food, the shopping here was a bit basic, just your basic beach clothes and souvenir type stuff. But the food – we ordered a whole lobster, cooked in garlic, omg so good. Also scallops cooked in a garlic and cheese sauce, omg to die for.

We went here for dinner twice, there was a cute little bar inside that we were sitting at for fresh fruit daquiris, Laws Dad was addicted to the rambutan daquiris so it was hard to get him away. Find the Malin Plaza Markets here Malin Plaza – Google Maps.

Chillva Market

A great flea market and street food market

These markets we were lucky to stumble across, our tuk tuk driver took us here on a Friday night when we had attempted to go to Phuket Night Weekend Market but it was closed, so we were pretty lucky. These were cool markets, reasonably big and the shops were pretty packed in. Hard to socially distance here. But lots of cool stuff up for sale, mainly clothes and accessories and then a whole lot of food.

We had some chicken wings and meat skewers, by now we realised that we were addicted to pork skewers and chicken and our diet had been consisting of mainly meat for a while now. But it was so good and so hard to say no too! We also got some corn fritters (for health) and spring rolls. We sat at one of the little bars cause they had a couple of cool beers on offer. I had a peach beer and Laws had some big Siam wheat beer . You can buy any food you want from the markets and then sit up in any of the bars and drink their drinks, but you couldn’t walk around these markets with a beer for some reason. I didn’t buy anything at these markets but there was a lot of cool stuff there. You will find these markets here Chillva Market – Google Maps.
