Kenilworth Bluff Campgrounds – a camping dream

We spent a night here on our trip around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and it is one spot we cant wait to go back to with the whole family! The site was pretty empty when we stayed there but I can imagine how great it would be if it had been booked out. There is a shop there where you check in, they had all the supplies you could need – fire wood, marshmallows, basic camping essentials! We got a nice little camp spot right by a creek and it felt very private. There was another group camping near us but we didn’t see them – only heard their children screaming.

Laws built a nice fire and I made a cheese platter and we settled in for a night around the camp fire with snacks, wine, beats, marshmallows and each other – dreamy! Haha

The camp sites are so great and so well equipped, there are portable toilets close to each campsite as well as proper shower and toilet blocks. There are tree swings, fire pits, walking tracks, creeks, water holes; it really is a great spot to camp and kick back.

And camping here you have the daily opportunity to drive into Kenilworth itself, five minutes away, and have a donut from the Kenilworth Country Bakery (kenilworthbakery.com). This bakery is pretty well known now and people do just drive to it as a destination cause it makes the most beautiful stuff.

I had a latte in a donut, cause.. why not? They hollow out the donut, line it with nutella so it doesnt soak through and then put your latte in there. So luscious! Lawson got a six pack of donuts (okay maybe to share) but we got some delicious flavours: custard filled, key lime, caramel, gay-time, and a few others I cant remember. But they were so good and we had had our donut fix by the time we got through them that’s for sure. The bakery is also pretty funky, the walls outside are paint with music artists and they even have my favorite girl Yo-Landi Visser painted up there so I was pretty impressed!
